Hi, can you post your complete ancestral coponets? That can help us to know which part of China are you from. I just mistake "canadian" for "cambodian"... =.=..
The following pictures are people from Guangdong province. Dai is very common in Han(Chinese language speaker, the major group of the whole China) people of Guangdong province and other southern provinces, cause souther Chinese have ancesters from north Han and local ethnic groups...
Though Dai live in Yunnan province, but Han in Yunnan have much lower Dai components than those in Guangdong, although Yunnan people live closer to Dai. Most of Han in Yunnan have closer genetic distance with north Chinese when comparing to people in Guangdong. That's kindda strange, but you know there are many white people in South Africa, people can easily move to other places, there's nothing weird, LOL.

Yes, I am from Quebec. And I dont have any information about my ancestrors. I was adopted by a canadian family in 2003.  I probably have ancestor from Yunnan because I am from Dai ethnic group for about 6%.

So you live in Quebec, no? And where does your most distant traceable matrilineal ancestor come from? Yunnan, CN?

and are likely to have a southern origin

The term "likely" usually serves as an predicative adjective (o/ predicate adjective). No adverb here.

Most of the N10a haplotypes, including its sister cluster N10b that is identified in Han populations from Guangdong, Shanghai, and Jiangsu, are present in southern Chinese and likely have a southern origin.
